BALANCE
Compassion Fatigue, in many cases, can be the #1, greatest work hazard for people in helping professions. Counselors, nurses, physicians, teachers, police officers, first responders and child protective workers are among the many professionals who subject themselves to the repeated exposure of others’ trauma. Overtime, this exposure can be quite debilitating causing symptoms that can be physical, mental emotional, behavioral and even spiritual. These indicators can mimic the symptoms of PTSD, anxiety and depression often leading to burnout and the needless termination of a life long dream career.
BALANCE sessions will focus on exploring and implementing 7 evidence-based interventions proven to be effective for relieving the symptoms caused by the stress of helping others.
Including Horses in Therapy Sessions
Horses, like other domesticated animals can have a positive impact on your quality of life. They can lower your blood pressure, encourage you to engage your senses facilitating a greater mind/body connection, cause you to be simultaneously calm and alert, and provide a safe and caring relationship allowing you to explore and heal the issues bringing you to therapy.
If you are interested in including horses in your sessions, please feel free to inquire. Sessions with horses are available in Flagstaff, AZ during the summer months and northern Phoenix, AZ area the rest of the year. There is an additional farm fee for these sessions.
