Born and raised in Montana, I developed a healthy dependence for the solace of the great outdoors. So after graduating with my Master of Arts degree from AGTS in Springfield, MO, I couldn’t wait to get back to my home state to begin my career and settle down. I found a Therapist position with Youth Dynamics and after receiving my license took a Clinical Director position with them overseeing the therapeutic group home program. I remained there for 17 years, specializing my skills in trauma informed care, leadership, compassion fatigue and incorporating interactions with horses in therapy. In 2011, I started a therapeutic equine program for the organization and in 2015, started teaching adjunct for Carroll College on the topic of incorporating interactions with horses in human services.
As for many others, the year 2020 brought some wanted and some unwanted opportunities for transition. Taking advantage of those opportunities, I stepped away from operating the therapeutic equine program for Youth Dynamics and Carroll College in Helena, MT and focused on building a private practice that allowed me the great fortune of being outdoors year round… comfortably. Now, I split the year living between Seeley Lake, MT and Sun City, AZ, enjoying all my favorite people, animals and activities!
